Mobility Counterbalance Harness - CB Handle Included!

New Handle Styles!

This is where things get tricky. But don't fret, I can make it easy! Message me for help deciding what's best for you and your dog.

Here's a quick run down of the options.

The 2 Variables:

A) how the handle is mounted:

          REMOVABLE = unbuckle

          or

FIXED = permanently mounted to harness

&

B) what the handle is made of:

Leather thickness (single or double layered)

Stabilizer (metal layered between leather, force applied handle bends to absorb shock but immediately springs back to original shape.

5 possible combinations- listed in order of ascending stability

(1=most flexible 5=most sturdy)

1) single layer leather, removable

2) single layer leather, fixed

3) double layer leather removable

4) double layer fixed

5) spring steel between double layer leather, fixed

Option 5 is far more stable than leather alone but the metal spring stabilizer acts as a shock absorber to protect your dog's spine.

All 5 options are CB Handles.

CB handles provide balance by pulling up and leaning away from the dog. CB is a very safe and effective option.

vs.

Bracing handles which have shock absorption and transfer all your force directly into the dogs spine. I do not sell bracing handles for ethical reasons.

Your dogs safety is my #1 priority. I will not sell you something if it's not safe.

In addition to counterbalance mobility work the harness can be used for light bracing, pulling, balancing, guide work, forward momentum, and wheelchair pulling.

Easily clip handle on and off using sturdy metal side release buckles.

Unlike other clip on CB handles, my design solves the problem of sagging handles and floppy buckles by firmly securing the entire attachment apparatus to the harness. Now you can have a consistent handle height and better handle feedback without sacrificing the convenience of removing the handle. (ideal option for travel)

Superb craftsmanship and stunning design.

Quality full grain leather: extremely strong, yet gentle on skin.

Compatible with CCD's Dog Backpack. Who needs a purse when you've got a service dog?

I developed this harness for my service dog because there wasn't a mobility harness on the market with an anatomically safe fit. This harness is designed with canine anatomy in mind to ensure the safety of your hard working friend.

The top two reasons dogs become 'gear shy' are:

1. restriction of natural shoulder movement* and

2. compression of the airway (aka choking)*

*My Design Eliminates Both Problems!

Ergonomically designed chest plate spreads pressure out across the strongest part of the dog's chest while the unique 'U' shape swoops below the manubrium (forward most point of the sternum) ensuring airway safety. This trachea friendly design is beneficial to all breeds, but essential for solid frame, large breed, barrel & deep chested dogs (i.e. breeds well suited to mobility work).

When I say "custom" I mean it. I will work with you to create a harness that fits the needs of both dog and handler.

An accurate fit requires detailed measurements, but the process can seem daunting. To save you the confusion and stress of interpreting countless diagrams I will walk you through the measuring process step by step via video chat (zoom, google meet, duo, facetime, facebook chat etc. Your choice, of you've never used video chat that's ok; I'll get you set up and make it super simple).
